Need a preset shape
Where can I find a preset shape of a ogee curve. It's sort of a slanted S. I've attached an image of one. Lacking a shape, Can someone show me how to draw one using PSP X5. I used autocad and converted the DWG to a JPG file.

Re: Need a preset shape
If you can export that DWG to a WMF you could import it into PSP. Then with the shape selected in PSP you could export it as a preset shape.
Here is a video using the method described below to manually recreate the curve inside PSP. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRSqjTpyUIY
Method I used:
1 ) Open the Curve JPG you just made
2) Grab the Pen tool
3) Make sure "Connect Segments" "Create on Vector" and "Show Nodes" are selected in the tool options palette.
4) Place one node at the end points of the curve you want to make.
5) Hold the Ctrl key and click in the center of the line.
6) Select all 3 nodes and right-click -> Node Type -> Symmetric
7) Start moving the control handles until the curves match your curve.
8) Right-click the object and rename it.
9) File -> Export -> Shape - Give it a name
10 ) Grab the preset shapes tool and select your shape from the drop-down list.

Re: Need a preset shape
Thanks for the video and the instructions. I followed them and was able to duplicate what you did. Unfortunately I got the line width too wide. I was able to change it using the pen - edit tool. I found where the shape files are stored and deleted the ogee shape. I exported the shape. problem is, when I place it on an image, it comes back with the original too wide line. Am I missing something simple again?

Re: Need a preset shape
There are two ways to handle this.
The first way is from the tool options palette. With the preset shapes tool select look at the tool options. You'll see a "retain style" checkbox. Uncheck this box. Retain Style is a way of using the line and color styles of the original shape regardless of the options you have on the tool options. When this is turned off, the shape will take on the line and color settings that you have selected.
So uncheck this box, then set the stroke width to whatever size you want.
-----------
This second method should help if you want to re-create the shape.
Close PSP.
Delete the shape file
Open PSP
File -> Preferences -> Reset Preferences.
In the Reset Preferences dialog select "Delete all cache files" and hit OK. See if that changes anything.

Re: Need a preset shape
Thanks again for all your help. I got my shape fixed the way I wanted and it's working fine. I'm at the age where the process of learning something new includes lots of u turns!
