Hi,
Each time I am trying to do something with Corel VideoStudio X6, I have a new issue. This time, when I try to play the preview of my full video, image blocks all the times, I have to hit the space bar two times to pause and resume playback, then it takes more than 30 seconds before playback resumes. I tried to encode the video, it worked, but after around 15 minutes, audio and video get out of sync.
I tried to contact Corel technical support and they could not do anything for me. They suggested me to install the Service Pack 1: installer pretends VideoStudio is not installed because I have an almost-full SSD and put VideoStudio in my data drive. Adding a second SSD would not solve the problem, because this would just create a new drive, and replacing the current SSD with a bigger one forces me, AGAIN, to reinstall everything! Then they suggested me to again reinstall Corel VideoStudio, but this takes hours and hours, because it tries to redownload everything and this is always waiting and blocking (and I DON'T know what to check if I have, AGAIN, to check my Internet connection).
Why am I having so many issues? Windows 8? I don't want to spend my weekends reinstalling and downgrading. This is just a real pain! I don't have so many issues with Ubuntu, I am able to keep upgrading to most recent versions with only minor issues for which it is usually possible to come up with workaround. Why is it so different with Windows? This is just unacceptable. I would like to keep using Ubuntu, but I don't have a Linux-based video editing tool. This is just unbearable. I am getting angrier and angrier each time I am trying to edit a video and there is no workaround, no fix, just reviews of the product which is supposed to be the best one and only unstable/crashing alternatives like PowerProducer from CyberLink. I don't want to waits MONTHS for somebody with a Mac to edit the video for me in Final Cut and at this point, this is the only solution I can think of.
I don't expect any help. I am giving up and hope other people will see this post and refrain from purchasing any Windows-based video editing tools. Seems we have to wait ten years or more until somebody come up with an open-source video editing tool that would work cross platform and, hopefully, be more stable.

Re: Audio/video synchronization issue after encoding
Maybe you could just detail the problem you are having and we could see if we could help.
Having the info below will help.
Is it just the slowness of response and OOS final saved video that are your problems?
How large is your ssd?
How full is it?
What are your source file types?
How large is your project in time
What edits have you made?
What format did you encode your finished video to?
Have you tried other formats?
As you have similar sounding problems with other editing software, it could be that there is a problem with your system.
