How do I get 1920x1080 WMV on Video Studio Pro X6

Post by plnelson »

When I select Create Video File > WMV > WMV HD 1080 30p the resulting file is 1440x1080!

Why does it do that? Is that really what most people think of when they see "1080"?

How do I do a standard 1920x1080 WMV with Video Studio Pro X6?

Thanks in advance.

Hi plnelson

and welcome to the forums

I would opt for the HD 720 template that creates 1280 x 720 frame size.

For 1902 x 1080 you will have to create a new template.

First start VS X6 with Run as Administrator otherwise you will not be able to save the WMV profile, its not VS but a windows decision.

Using Settings make Movie Templates Manager, choose to create a NEW – WMV—give the template
Then from Template Options window – Profile tab – Customise

You are now looking at WMV Manage Profiles
New
I am not sure what you choose here, but I selected/ticked Audio and video leaving the default codec
Video Format, I assume you use NTSC
Then Add- I used 12000 for the bit rate but to be honest don’t know, so would have to render to test quality.

Now set the audio format
Set the Video Size to 1902 x 1080

The template will be available from the WMV profile list.
Now return to the Templates Options window to select the new profile.
The new template will be available from Share Create Video File adjacent to the Custom option.

That’s sort of how, but I don’t know about the Bit Rates for WMV nor whether 1920 x 1080 is a standard for wmv?

Update

From the Manage Profile window

Make a copy of Corel Screen Capture Profile 1920 x 1080
Edit the copy, increase the frame rate from 15 to 30
Modify the audio format selecting a higher quality
