Moving logo on map

Post by secookie »

Hi all

I'm trying to achieve a look where there is a map, be it a road map or London underground map with a logo that will move to show our movements from one place to another following the road / rail line.

The logo could even be a dot which moves, I just don't know the easiest way to achieve this.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

That depends a great deal on which version of VideoStudio you are using - with the later ones it's a lot easier

Simon,

In VSP X6 it is easy. Put your road map on Video track 1. Then place your object/logo on the Overlay track. If your logo contains an alpha channel then the background will be transparent and overlay perfectly on the map. Example: White alpha circle Download here: http://www.clker.com/clipart-plain-white-circle.html Now, click on Path icon under FX and select P02 and drag it on your Overlay track. I chose this one because it is easy to Customize. Right click on your logo and click Customize Motion. Here you can change the Size of your logo and set keyframes for your path. Just move your logo at select intervals and add the keyframes and your object/logo will follow your customized path. Play to preview. Make changes if needed, then hit OK when satisfied. That's it.

If you decide to use the white circle.png I provided, the easy way to change the color is to drop the FX Monochrome filter on the file and keyframe your desired color to the first and last frames.

Hope this helps.

Robert
