I eventually found a work-around, based on a few other posts I found on this forum. What worked for me was to create a new admin user account under windows, log onto that account, and then install the trial. Weird, but it works.
Good grief... that's ridiculously retarded. I'll wait for my X6 box version I bought to arrive. I'm not wasting my time trying to jump through hoops for bad software. I've been using PSP since what seems like forever so hopefully their box release will actually install on a 64-bit win7 pc.... Hopefully the touted "full 64-bit" lives up to what it should. I hate waiting 30 seconds for a filter to apply to an image. When working through 1000 wedding images, it's a severe slowdown.
Hi, I'm Joseph who Product Manager of PaintShop Pro. I am so sorry to hear this error was happened in your side, actually you are a few people who have seen this kind of installation problem as my understanding. If you do not mind, I would like to ask your help to download below TBYB version and give it a trying again. And please update your result for reference. Here is the download link
Hello josephlin,
I would like to report back that the Google.drive link DID install.
I opted for the 32-bit+64-bit installation. So far I am seeing an increase in processing speed doing the same image filters in X5 and X6 - X6 seems to do the same thing faster.
But at least it DID install without jumping through any hoops and did not generate any errors.
Thank you for correcting the installation issue!

Just wanted to mention that the installer from the trial download page http://www.corel.com/corel/product/inde ... nloadtrial failed for me. It installed the setup program but on the "black" screen titled something like "Initializing installation" it would exit abruptly part way through that screen. The link you (Joseph) have supplied gives me a .exe that is 20KB smaller. With it the installation completed without incident. I'm glad I stumbled on this forum page.
Looks like Corel need to do some updating of their own site page links and check that the downloads from there work.
I have seen advice from elsewhere that we should use the main manufacturers downloads rather than a third party.
Bad press if Corel does not at least do some external checks to make sure all is well.
