CRC fault when installing PSP X6 Service Pack 1

while downloading the latest Service Pack 1, I get a fault-message (see attachment)
even after deleting and re-installing Corel PSP X6 (version after initial install = 16.1.0.48)

tried to download the SP through the program itself, but even from the download from the Corel server, i have the same result !!!

CRC error: the file c: \ users \ ... \ ... \ Local \ Temp \ Corel Paint Shop Pro X6 \ 16.1 \ Setup \ PSPPro.msi does not match the file in the cab file setup.. The medium from which you run setup may be damaged. Please contact your software supplier

any ideas? or is my PSP X6 up-to-date?

I had the same problem today.
I tried it again and at one moment it worked.
Looks like there is some kind of communication problem between your computer and the Corel server during the installation / upgrade process or so??

It is happening to several people, I've downloaded the file several times on several different days with different browsers as well. That must be one hell of a communication problem.

I've received a couple of replies now, but we've not gotten past, "please download the SP from this download page <insert link>". Which is what I've been doing for that past couple of days, just did another test, same result, waiting for new response of Corel.

Mike, I'm curious. Obviously I am of no help in this thing, I'm sure that slow as Corel is they will eventually help. So I'm gonna stay out of the way.

But I am curious. When Corel initially released SP1 it had an issue where it wouldn't install if one of two weird conditions were met. 1) If you only had PSPX6 64-bit installed or if you had PSPX6 Ultimate and the creative collection installed.

It failed with an error of some sort.

Corel then released a fixed SP1 that should have worked for those it didn't work with previously. It's after they released the fix that I personally saw the first post on the CRC error. I don't know if this error happened before the fix, or after the fix.

So what I'm wondering is, did you initially try to install SP1 and it failed. And now that the fixed SP1 is available you're receiving this CRC error?

Have you tried the following.

Backup any files that you want to keep, Workspace etc.

Uninstall PSPX6.

Download the current TRIAL of PSPX6 and install it.

This worked for me without any problems. The "Trial" is the full package you just need to enter your registration code to unlock it.

I already did that, that's basically a full install of the most current version. It works yes, but it has nothing to do with the issue. A SP should work as well... just waiting for support to figure something out, no new reply today.

Yes. Neither of the conditions you mention apply to me. I have a 32-bit os and no ultimate or create collection.

There are a number of posts covering this subject (I estimate over 200 so far). I hope that Corel will sort it out soon as some of the posts suggest that if you are lucky and download it introduces problems. Meanwhile I'm glad I still have my X1 program so I can use this for now.
It will be a shame if Corel do not resolve these update issues and start to lose their hard won customers to Elements (please excuse my swearing )

New reply from support, please download the file again using the microsoft download manager (there's actually such a thing, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=27960). It only downloaded a 3.5 kb file, which obviously did not work at all.

With regard to your concern, there is a current issue with the recently released service pack 1 for PaintShop Pro X6, kindly refer to the link below for more information.

Two temporary solutions are proposed,

(1) Reinstall PaintShop Pro X6, then install Service Pack 1 before installing the Creative Content and/or Creative Collection.

(2) Do not install the service pack. Wait until the new version for a couple of days and re-download it again.

We apologize for this.

1 does not apply to me, I have no creative content and/or create collection, just regular PSP X6, that seems to have been a different issue. 2 does apply, not that I have a choice. I'll wait and see what SP1 v2 brings...
