Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
Hello,
I have the same problem with exactly the same error-message. I tried some things I found at Google but without success.
Is there anybody else with this problem who can help?
Here is the whole error-message:
"Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {5617BF49-9195-4C35-B9AD-F8D165DE25BB}, HRESULT: 0x80073715."
@Guenther: could you solve the problem?
thanks in advance

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
Hi, could you try to re-download the Service Pack 1 through http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=7100001 again? We got similar report and most case is due to downloaded package isn't completed. It may cause by ISP, network quality or sever status. Please give it a trying again and I assume the problem will be resolved.
Cheers

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
hi,
I tryed it and I got again an error - message: and the error is coming at the same position in the Installation process: 47 %.
I think, the only way to get the SP1 is the possibility to download the whole installation - file of paint shop, Service pack included. Then i could uninstall the programm and after this, installing the new file, included sp1 ! This would be nice of the Team of corel!
Thank you for your Engagement
many greetings

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
Hello,
I also tried it several times and I got the same error every time at 47%.
I agree that the best way for SP1 is the whole program including SP1.
Maybe another chance is to install Windows on a blank harddisk and then to install PSP as the first programm before all others.
But it's a lot of work and I'm not sure if it's working.
In the meantime I got two proposals from Corel:
the first:
Gehen Sie zu C:\ProgramData (versteckter Ordner)\Corel\Downloads und löschen Sie alle Dateien in diesem Ordner
2. Klicken Sie auf dem Windows Start Knopf und schreiben Sie %temp% in dem Suchfeld. Löschen Sie auch alle Einträge in diesem Ordner
3. Laden Sie die Installation Datei von dem Link unten herunter und probieren Sie erneut: http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=7100001
the second:
Befolgen Sie bitte die Anweisungen unter folgendem Link, um das Problem zu beheben:
http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... source=kba
unfortunately they didn't work.
regards
Rolf

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
Please try to google "1935 error", then find the instructions to cleanup your system then try again.
Many program will got that error during installation, looks like they might have similar solution. Ex: clean up your temp folders then try again.
Try to look your environment variables, find "TEMP" or "TMP", then delete all the files under that, reboot, then try again.
Hope that can help you all.

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
Got the same error message at the 95% installation point. Tried it both through the update assistant and through the web page download. Looks like I'll have to go without the SP1 update till this gets worked out.
Any suggestions?

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
One of the first things I did was a Google search and I tried a lot of things, I also cleaned the all the Temp-folders, including c:\Users\{User}\AppData\Local\Temp\ (where you can find the SP1-Software when the installer-window isn't closed yet).
The search results of 'Error 1935 0x80073715' at Google showed me a possible problem with Visual C++ 2005 as the first hit, but i couldn't get the Hotfix.

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
I did this update on my Win 7 computer with no problem. I had this error installing on my XP laptop. I then reviewed the complaints on this page and discovered the error cuts across several different operating systems so it is not just an XP issue. Corel seems quiet on this. I hope they intend to figure out the problem and fix it for us! I noticed just now that 16 other people are browsing this forum. Perhaps if y'all would indicate having the same problem Corel would get active on solving the issue. I really like the latest version of PSP 6 and would appreciate having the latest update!

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
Good luck getting Corel to fix this problem! I had the same issue when installing SP1 with PS Pro X4 on my Windows XP machine. I spent hours following increasingly more complex suggested solutions to this problem. I finally downloaded the trial version that included the SP1 update. This loaded successfully but my Serial Number would not unlock the 30 day trial. After hanging up in frustration with a phone call to customer service I tried an email to Tech Support. I received 1 reply suggesting the things I had already tried. No more replies after that. Email Tech Support was a waste of time. All I needed was a new serial number! I finally tried the online Tech Support and as luck would have it I got someone who was interested in resolving my problem. As soon as he understood my problem he sent me a new serial number for the trial version and my problem was resolved. It took about a week of frustration to solve the issue.
I resisted the temptation to upgrade until PS Pro X6 came along. Guess what? Same problem installing SP1 on my Windows XP machine. No problem I thought, I’ll download the trial and try online support for a serial number. Bad move. The 30 day trial crashes ungraciously during installation! I get the message asking me to send a crash report to Microsoft. Not a good way to promote a new product I would suggest.
The good news is that SP1 installed successfully on a Windows 7 64 bit system.
Final thoughts…
* I feel there is a problem with Corel’s custom installation software that they are unprepared to resolve or cannot resolve. If the original release of the program installs OK and the trial version with the service pack included installs OK but trying to install SP1 on top of the initial release fails surely that indicates a problem with the installer.
* Perhaps they have convinced themselves it’s not their problem.
* Perhaps it’s easier to issue a refund than fix the problem.
* I have never had this kind of issue installing other programs. One would think that if there is a software issue on the host machine this problem would occur installing other software.
Cheers,
John.

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
I've been fortunate in that I have not had any problems with installation unlike so many who post here. There are many threads relating to the problems and solutions end up buried. Here are two links where I think people have resolved their problems and perhaps this could help.
See Evan Cheng's (Corel developer) advice in this thread - http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=52268
Another poster (SOLVED: Cannot install PSP X6) had success using this tool provided by Trueblue - http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 44#p280344
Good luck.

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
I also have had no real problems with installation of versions of PSP except X3 (disc version)where after a lot of trial and error I discovered that if I turned off Hardware Acceleration it installed and later I could turn it back on.
I have installed PSP8, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6 on an XP Home desktop computer, and also on Windows 7 Home Premium on My Desktop (separate harde drive in case) , + 2 different Toshiba Laptops running Win 7 Home Premium . The Win 7 versions are all 64 bit and I installed both the 64 and 32 bit versions of X6.
One laptop I have updated with SP1 and the Hotfix and will need to do more testing there before I convert the other Win 7 installations.
I run all my versions opening in Edit mode with the splash screen turned off. Sometimes they start slow for the first run of the day, but a quick check of the Task Manager lets me know if they are still opening up in the background and not to panic.
I have single user log in on all systems, simple AVG, Spybot Search and Destroy and Zone alarm running. I don't have a lot of imported brushes , plug ins and other add ons and so far have remained problem free apart from the known problems. eg extra text space for versions 3- 5., the crash with object extractor in X6 when refining (apparently solved with SP1), but I put up with those as I don't need those features all the time and there are work arounds even going back to use an earlier version.
I am still using X2 as my main workhorse because of fast loading and simple features (Note No Manage or Adjust Modes with problems they may have introduced.)
I used X3 because of the new text on image feature instead of teh text box, but have moved on to X4 for most of my text work as it is stable (for me ) and the text feature is so easy to use.
I will proceed to use X5 / X6 at times and as I gain familiarity with them may eventually use them and prob X6 more.
I am not interested in the map / facebook features so for me that has been a waste of programmer's time.

Re: PaintShop Pro x6 and SP 1
Hello,
last Weekend I could solve my Problem, I could install SP1.
What I did: I cleaned my Hard-Disk and installed Win7 new. This work is a kind of punishment, it lasted a whole day and I'm happy that it's over and working.
After installing Win7 and the Motherboard drivers the next one was PSP x6 and SP1, there were no Problems. After that I installed all the other Stuff.
PSP is still working.
But believe me: I don't want to do it again with SP2. I hope Corel does a better work with the next Service Pack (if one is necessary).
best regards and a happy 2014
