I've been using X5 since last year and have been able to create and burn DVDs without issues. Today I tried to create a DVD (I chose "Create Disc" from the "Share" menu) and a new window came up titled "DVD Movie Factory 7". I have never downloaded this and I am unable to get past this window. Did Corel update X5 with this new software? I can not create a disc like I did 4 weeks ago. I appreciate any help with this. I forgot to mention that I did have to perform a recovery and reset my computer to it's original settings a few weeks back and I reinstalled X5. My computer info is as follows:
Windows 8 64 bit
8GB RAM with Intel i5-3230M CPU 2.6 GHz
750 GB Hard Drive
Many thanks,
Vinny

Re: Unable to create DVD with VS X5
That sounds very strange since the only version of VS which had a link to a cut-down version of MF7 SE was version X3 (13) -- and that was because Corel in their wisdom (NOT!!) had substituted the old tried and true burning module with a new one which was, frankly, a pile of cr*p!! So they made MF7SE available and later, with a patch, installed a link in VS X3.
So did you ever have VS13 installed? If so, it would appear that your recovery may have resurrected a link (in the Registry??) to VS X3 and thus its link to MF 7 SE, though how it got into X5 I simply cannot explain. But at the very least I would try to remove X5 completely and then reinstall it.

Re: Unable to create DVD with VS X5
Hi Ken. I never had X3 on this new laptop. After submitting my question I gave it another try and it worked without the annoying DVD factory 7 window!
I have no idea how that happened. I wonder if anyone else has had the same thing occur?
