Hi there,
Definition of a problem:
I have a music project with H.264 Video files. The files are all from the same camera and are the same.
After burning a BluRay folder on a NTFS external hard disc the first song (is the first from the original video files) is going out of sync. The rest of the Blu Ray is in sync.
Watching the first file separtely (KMPlayer and panasonic blyray player) everything is ok.
Watching the project in Video Studio before burning everything is ok.
To prevent the out of sync I have made a "smart-proxy file" of the first file, before burning. But sadly no differences. (any need to make a smart-proxy file of all files??)
I have searched on the forum and read in some other toppics about this. But not exactly, and after taken some actions I still got out of sync. Hopefully someone can explain (I want understand it) and hopefully come with a good solution.
It has something to do with the BluRay burning but I can not find the cause of it.

Re: Not sync first number BluRay
Is it possible for you to copy the first clip from your Blu-Ray disc STREAM sub-folder (0000.mts) and paste/insert it in the VS library window... then right click and copy all its Properties here, please?
What I am trying to find out is whether there has been a conversion done from your original 1280 x 720 25p (50i?) footage to another of the Blu-Ray formats. I am not sure that 1280 x 720 25p is a standard Blu-Ray format, though 1280 x 720 50/60p certainly is. Other Blu-Ray formats include AVCHD 1920 x 1080 50/60i and Blu-Ray HD mpeg-2 transport stream 50/60i.
Mind you, it seems strange that only one audio clip is going out of sync...

Re: Not sync first number BluRay
Well that at least confirms that the 1280 x 720i file was indeed converted to standard Blu-Ray mpeg-2, so probably the out of sync occurred during the conversion.
The only thing I can think to try would be to convert the problem clip into AVCHD 1920 x 1080i (or indeed use that as the overall conversion to Blu-Ray) and see if that helps.

Re: Not sync first number BluRay
I made a AVCHD file 1920x1080 from the original first file, in video studio.
When I played the created AVCHD it is out of sync by it self.
When I place the created AVCHD file in the time line of the project is its also out of sync.
Any other suggestions.
I try to understand what is wrong with this first file?

Re: Not sync first number BluRay
I also give it a try to burn a DVD folder (for DVD8,5gb).
Sadly also on this type the first file is out of sync. All the others are in sync.
There must be something that I can not over see ?
Any suggestions.

Re: Not sync first number BluRay
Also tried:
Tick all boxes on at the proxy settings menu and made a small blu ray only the 1st and 2nd song.
Sadly the same result. 1st song out of sync and 2nd in right order.

Re: Not sync first number BluRay
Have you tried:
1) Re-rendering the first clip (Share > Create Video Clip > Same As First Clip or AVCHD or Custom with the same Properties as the original) then on the dialogue box, click the Options button and remove the tick from 'Perform Smart Render'. Then see if that new clip remains out of sync when you make a new Blu-Ray.
2) Converting the AVCHD to Blu-Ray mpeg-2?
3) Create a separate sound file in .wav format from the first video (Share > Create Sound File). Then mute the original and put the sound file in one of the audio tracks and try to move it manually until it appears to be in sync with the video.

Re: Not sync first number BluRay
Just an updat what I have done. (rendering this project consumes a lot of time).
- Rerendering is done but no effect. Still out of sync after burning the BR folder
- I found my MP4 file which I had made in the past of the total project. Cut the first part out of it and placed it in the project in stead of the first movie file.
I burned the BR folder and this works. Al was in sync.
Sadly the MP4 I made had a watermark so I will change that.
I'm happy that I found a solution, but wanted to understand why this first file get out of sync. Could that file be corrupt (looked at the parameters it isn't)
- I split the audio from the first clip and place it on the audio part of videostudio. Before burning everything is in sync. After burning BR it is out sync. Same deviation as in the beginning.
Thanks for helping getting me in a direction of the solution. Is there still someone able who can explain this rarity defect?

Re: Not sync first number BluRay
Well hopefully someone might be able to explain, but I certainly can't!
You might be interested to know that another user had a similar problem back in August, but it seems never found a solution -- yet a third user ran a similar experiment and did not have the problem: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=51314
