I have just tried to install SP1 3 times without any success; I get the error messages as attached.

I have both 32 bit & 64 bit versions install (16.0.0.113) and get the same messages for either.

Used program 'Check for Updates'

I have re-downloaded program in case original installation was corrupted (although it seemed to work OK) but do not want to do anything until I know what is happening, or what I should do.

Can anyone tell me whether the "Zooming Window Issue" (which I have too) is a SP1 bug. . .or is this a design change ? (Saw a comment somewhere in this forum that "Photoshop" have had this design all along ??)
Don't like it, it's a backward step  but no good me trying to fix something if it ain't broke !

Apparently it's 'by design' :-(

I don't like it either and have gone back to the pre-SP1 version of X6.

I always set a System Restore point before installing software and rolled the system back :-)

yes it's 16.1.0.48 but I thought from your message above this would fix the broken "fit image to window when zooming in or out" issue.
Apparently not, so we are stuck now with a product even more broken that before.
Can you tell me when you will fix this "fit image to window when zooming in or out" issue please?

by design? you must be kidding! what sort of idiot programmer would set that "design" and why is there options in preferences for the way it worked before?
You now set preferences but the "design" overrides these preferences due to some idiot programmers "design".

Sorry to repeat myself but you people don't give a damn about users and have programmers out of control making stupid changes for changes sake.
Seems I have to find another graphics program and no it will not be from Corel.

Go Terry . . . .couldn't have put it better myself.
Yep thanks Joelle .. . smart move on your part (rolling back) - I might need to do a re-install from the pre SP1 exe.
What would I have done without all this work Corel created for me !

I have rolled back but now get messages in my face that an update is available. So how do I turn off these messages?

Hoping someone can help - I still have my original legitimate (pre SP1) download PSPX6_PF.exe 239,552KB exe and licence key. If I uninstall the current SP1 version (via Add/Remove), will I be able to reinstall my old version without running into licensing issues with Corel ? ( I must be missing something otherwise there would be multiple free installs going on everywhere. How are Corel controlling this. . . I'm just scared of falling through the cracks and ending up with no PSP at all).

Tried to send Corel an email asking this question but unless you're within their 90 day warranty or paid their extortion money ya might as well try and send an email to God.

Assuming I can do this and it works, then I'm right where Terry is now . . .update available messages in my face every 5 mins ! Please post how ya get on with that one Terry.

Thanks guys.

kiwozikonnections, since this debacle began with PSP6 I have uninstalled and reinstalled it about 3 or 4 times. It seems you are fine re-installing on the same machine as the original install. I think the license issue only comes into play if trying to install on another machine.
on the post above claiming this is a "design" feature, IT IS NOT. You have preference settings for the image zoom that once set no longer work, that is a BUG under any definition, so claiming it's a "design" is rubbish and just trying to play down that they have broken this feature for no reason other than the place is run by idiots.

Thanks for that Terry and yes I know exactly the particular "Preferences Setting" you're referring to. Not going to speak too loudly or next they will remove the preference settings to cover up the Bug !
Might sit tight for a while and see if they come up with a SP version 1.0 umm.duhhh.ooops !

Had a bit of a poke around re "Update Notices" - sort of lead to "Corel Account Settings/Details" as though there was some option to receive or not receive, but I had ##### all ticked and still got the original SP1 notification so don't know - don't have to face that one yet because I have the latest version and I'm just sooooo lucky

Lots of problems with sp1.
Regularly it stops redrawing the screen when using the back button and also trails parts of a selection over the screen making it impossible to see the selection.

Joelle/Terry
I did find this option in my Corel Account - Ironically I didn't have any of these boxes ticked yet I still got notification of the original SP 1 being available so I dunno !

Ahhh sorry - not as clever as Joelle (my above image file didn't work) but basically a similar option as you have posted - can be found in your account settings. . . but as I said it made no difference.
