Recently installed X5. Is there a way to change the vector thumbnail background color to white? Right now it has a checkerboard appearance and small items eg short line segments, are impossible to see. A second question I have is, is there any way to get the thumbnail to "zoom" onto the item it's representing so that a short line segment would fill the thumbnail view and, thus, be more identifiable?
Thanks. Jim B.

Re: Pallette thumbnail background and questions
I don't think so on the first one.
And definitely no on the second. When I need to know what a small single line vector is I give it a very descriptive name.

Re: Pallette thumbnail background and questions
Have you tried resizing the layer palette thumbnails to the maximum size? If not, that might help. You can set the thumbnails up to 150 pixels and the pop-up thumbnails to 250 pixels. Go to File > Preferences > General Program Preferences > Palettes.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16

Re: Pallette thumbnail background and questions
The checkerboard pattern you see is probably the transparent part of the vector image.
Under File/preferences/general program preferences/transparency and Shading you can change the grid properties as size, scheme and colours. The Scheme dropdown has solid colours, or you can just click on the two colour boxes and make them the same (custom) colour, giving a solid grid.
I don't know if this works on thumbnails themselves (my X4 thumbnails have a solid white background independent of these settings), but the preview palettes and edit images show the transparency as set here.
Even though it's Corel, it shouldn't break anything if you experiment

Re: Pallette thumbnail background and questions
I found the grid properties settings. I changed everything to white and that did the trick. Didn't help much as far as seeing the small stuff. I turned off the palette thumbnails. I'm gonna like this as it shows all the vectors without having to scroll through them and when you hover the cursor over them a thumbnail pops up which closes when you move the cursor off it. A "fit image to thumbnail" which would be the default setting might be a nice addition to a future update...
Thanks for the help
