VS4 patches won't install

Post by brofax »

VS4 Pro x 4 Ultimate.

Only recently discovered this Forum and the existence of three patches which I have downloaded. However, all three refuse to install giving me the message:

"The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate".

The original DVD is in the drive and the Volinfo. text is definitely on it.

Any help in installing these updates appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

That message is Corels very strange way of informing you that the patches are already installed - they can install automatically depending on your settings.

To check what upgrades you have open the Corel Guide - if it does not open automatically on start up open it by clicking on the round orange 'clock type' icon up near the top right corner of VideoStudio - when the guide opens click on the two little cog wheels up in the top right corner - and from the drop down choose 'about VideoStudio' - now look immediately under the image for the Legend "Corel VideoStudio pro ultimate 14.3.0.5"

the 14 is the X4 identifier and the 3 indicates the highest number patch currently installed.

if you have that all is up to date

Hmmm, you are quite right I am up to that version already. I don't remember installing them but I may have got to them a long time ago through the Check for Updates option on the cogwheels.

Thanks a lot, Brian, for this and for all your other helpful info on this Forum.
