Load From Stream Error
Has anyone seen the "Load from stream error" in Video Studio 8? It started when I was deleting a number of previews from my library and got blank white boxes in place of each preview. They appeared one at a time each followed by the "Load from stream error" and an "OK" box which allows another white box with an x in it to appear. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the Ulead Video Studio 8 program but now the program won't install. Any ideas?

Maybe it helps...
The error I seen writes SerializeBB error but it happens on the same circunstances, when I had a lot of pictures in IMAGES sub folders.
I went to
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\8.0
and Deleted the file VS_Image.dat
Note my blank squares were in the Image library.VS8 recreated the file when I restarted it BUT without the old image struture I had.
cheers

lanceblueb,
to clear the "load from stream" error you need to unistall UVS completely including a number of hidden files, if you can no longer use the "uninstall" option then you will have to delete all the VideoStudio Files manually,
First go to Control Panel >> Folder Options >> View and make sure that "Show hidden files and Folders" is selected. If you have no other Ulead products then do a search of your hard drive for 'Ulead' and delete everything it finds - if you have other Ulead products then carefully check that the files you are deleting belong to VideoStudio. Then run any registry cleanup programme you have - for instance "Norton Win Doctor" to tidy up your registry.
You should then be able to do a clean re-install and hopefully your problem will have gone.

yes, I had the same problem. Close Ulead. Goto My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options and select "View". Select the "Show hidden files and folders" option and uncheck the "Hide operating system files (Recommended). The in My Computer click "C:" goto "Documents And Settings" -> "Administrator" (same as your logon name) -> "Local Settings" -> "Application Data" -> "Ulead Systems" -> "Ulead VideoStudio" -> "8.0" folders and delete the VS_Video.DAT (eg) file, reopen Ulead and the thumbnails should reset back to the default thumbnails when the program was installed.
took me 4 days to work it out!

Yes, deleting VS_Video.DAT file solved problem for me too.
Don't know why problem suddenly appeared though.
Thanks guys, saved me heaps of grief.
