Display RGB Levels for Curves Adjustment

Post by vciro »

I often find it difficult to find 50% Gray with the eye dropper tool on the Adjustment Layers-Curves screen. White and Black are fairly straight forward but gray can be very subjective. I noticed that on a full image screen, when I select the Eye Dropper tool and move around the image, the RGB values are shown as I move around. Since 50% Gray would be about as close as I can get to R=125, G=125 and B=125, I can find a spot on the main image screen to get pretty close to this.

Unfortunately, when the Eye Dropper tool is shown on the Layer Adjustment Curves or even the direct Adjust, Brightness/Contrast, Curves screens, the RGB values do NOT show up. Is there a setting or option that would make them show? :(

Many thanks,
