Video Studeo Pro X5 - Media Browser Problem

Post by Plenes »

Recently when I try to bring video media into the timeline or the library the Media Browser screen freezes with the little blue circle going round and round and never stopping. I can sometimes get about 10 MPEG video to move over and then if I try to go back in and get more it will freeze. Sometimes it freezes the first time in. I have edited previously with no problem and am not sure what has happened. I removed the program and reinstalled it, it freed up more hard drive space. I went back and tried older videos that are shorter that I have edited and it did it there too. My camera is a Canon 200 and it downloads the videos into Image Mixer 3 SE version 4. I bring the mpeg video clips in from there?? Not sure what is happening? So any ideas would be great - let me know what other information you need.

If it all used to work ok and now doesn't, then obviously something has changed on your pc.
Have you recently installed any updates to windows or any other video/audio related app?
Deleted/uninstalled anything?
Installed anything new?

The only thing I can think of is I did a disc clean up - may have deleted something then but I don't know what?? Might have been an upgrade to Direct X - but not sure if that would make a difference. Started then and has steadily been getting worse. Thanks.

In which case try updating directx, your graphics driver and the programme that came with your cam, as that'll have added the codec for the video type.
