Since I can usually hook up to the internet-- using an air card, if naught else-- this isn't a fatal problem for me, but it is an annoying glitch. I mostly want to somehow get this into the Corel system as a bug report.

Paintshop Pro X6 crashes without internet connection
Seems to affect both x64 (my usual use) and x32. During the startup phase (before loading command libraries, etc), the program frequently crashes IF I am not hooked up to the internet. If I am hooked to the internet, it starts OK, and if, after starting, I disconnect from the internet all is OK as well. I presume it may be checking for updates at startup and running into trouble without an internet connection there, and there seems to be no way to turn auto-check feature this off.

Re: Paintshop Pro X6 crashes without internet connection
That might be something to talk to Corel about. It's certainly not a problem with my installation. I startup the program while offline constantly.
Have you registered the program? Are you signed up with their free membership? There seems to no longer be a way to turn off messages from Corel which is odd. Otherwise I can't think of any reason PSP would need the internet to startup.

No problems starting and running with internet off. Same for the Corel Visual studio programs.
Once I have registered, any program that wants me to to have the internet on when I run the program I usually dump.

Re: Paintshop Pro X6 crashes without internet connection
I registered the program and regularly check for updates. Interestingly enough, only the 64 bit version dies. Why I start the 32 bit version, I get the same error message, but when I tell it to go ahead and close the program, the 32 bit version proceeds to start up normally instead.
It didn't start out this way. Originally there was no problem working offline either. Perhaps something got corrupted... or some Microsoft Windows update did something unfavorable. Or it might be something else. I had a similar problem with my Office 2010 programs, and it turned out to be an issue with the Xerox printer being the default. Switching to the HP printer solved that problem for the Office applications but not, alas, for Paintshop Pro X6.
