Color Replace X2 - Metallic (?)
Okay, so I know how to replace one color with another in Pro Photo X2 from a palette or from within the picture itself, but what I am wanting to do is replace the color in the picture with a (any one of these) - Gold, Silver or Metallic look. Don't know how to even get started with that, if at all possible (PS - I'm using Pro Photo X2). Thanks for any advice.

That depends very much on what you're hoping to turn metallic. The subject is very important in this case.
If the subject is already metallic and you want to just change its color without making it look flat, very easy. IF the subject is soft and fluffy and you want to turn it metallic, not impossible but a little more difficult.

You can't replace a colour with a metallic look, but you can select whatever you want to look metallic and then apply
an effect.
Either use a Plugin for that, or a script.
Google for 'Paint Shop Pro metallic text' or Paint Shop Pro tutorials.

Re: Color Replace X2 - Metallic (?)
Thank you. What I am trying to do is take a photo of a football helmet (Cincinnati Bengals) that is orange with black tiger stripes and replace it with my kids' high school football colors, navy blue and metallic silver. PS - I understand about copyright laws, etc., this is just a demonstration for them, NOT changing the current teams logo or anything.

Re: Color Replace X2 - Metallic (?)
Done in PSPX6, but it isn't very different from X2
I selected the stripes with the Magic Wand>Promoted the selection to a new layer for ease of work: Selections>Promote Selection to layer.
Filled that with a gradient, black-to-white.
Select None.
Back to the layer with the helmet to change the orange.
For this you can use the Color Changer tool:
Click on the Color Changer tool, hold the Ctrl key and click once on the orange>then find the navy you need in the Materials Palette (or source it from an image you have i open in the workspace) and again, holding the Ctrl key, click on the Navy.
Now go to the helmet and click on the orange, which will then change to navy:-)
