Version: Pro x6
Project^ 1280*720 30fps.
I tried to use zoom in function. But in preview and even after renderin with big bitrate(6000 kb/s) it looks like horrible.
It looks like progrM doesn't use original photo, so when you use zoom infunction then quality become reall horrible.

Photo zoom IN quality is horrible.

Hi
Can you upload the original image before inserting to Video Studio, then we can try your zoom option.
And what are you trying to create
a video for the internet or a Standard Definition DVD?

So yes. You can delete my post.
I've tried to make 720p 60fps AVI(original video was from GoPro camera). Don't afraid. I know about project settins, smart proxy, and of course about output settings(bitrate, interlace/progressive. codec settings etc.).And what are you trying to create a video for the internet or a Standard Definition DVD?
Boris graffiti works properly with pictures, but it is slower.
In fact the main reason i use Corel and not Pinnacle is that Corel can properly work with any output format. Also i used corel VS x12, so i know how to use it. I was very suprised that it works with pictures so bad.

Simple make project with 1280*720p resolution. And try to view whole man in a frame(you even don't need to use any animation). You will see that corel VSx16 "think" that 100% picture is resized to 1280*720 picture and not original.
And it will use bicubic interpolation,so picture will be blured.

Re: Photo zoom IN quality is horrible.
Hi
Your original image is 2448 x 3264, (4x3) being portrait does not lend itself to being placed in a video frame.
If the portrait picture is placed in a HD video frame will be 1080 px height.
That effectively reduces the image resolution from 2448 x 3264 to 810 x 1080.px
The figure of the man takes up approx 300 pixels horizontal out of the 810, and I am afraid that’s all that is left of the original, now zoom in to fill the screen and you will be able to count those pixels.
Your best option is to use an image editor to crop to 16:9 ratio, 1920 x 1080.
That will fit to screen.
If you decide not to fill the screen then you could create a Picture in Picture effect, the smaller image would increase the quality.
I will send by e-mail a file containing a project showing what I achieved with Zoom and a new cropped image.

1.2448 x 3264, is larger then 1280*720. Answer-Yes.lata wrote:Hi

.
2.Sony Vegas, Boris Graffiti(as plugin), Pinnacle Studio "understand" this and you don't need any photo editor to crop picture. Answer-Yes.
3. Corel VSx Pro don't "understand" this and you need every time to crop picture manually from photo editor when you need a picture a larger or smaller.Answer-Yes.
But why can not i crop(zoom part of picture to fill the screen) the picture in Corel VSx? Original picture is larger than 1280*720(more than in 4 times). It's looks strange.lata wrote:If the portrait picture is placed in a HD video frame will be 1080 px height.

I understand this. The problem that i can not crop it easy in video editor like in others, and i have to use Boris Graffiti for this.lata wrote: The figure of the man takes up approx 300 pixels horizontal out of the 810, and I am afraid that’s all that is left of the original, now zoom in to fill the screen and you will be able to count those pixels.

Re: Photo zoom IN quality is horrible.
Hi
You can crop the image easily in Video Studio, but it’s a video editor not an image editor and as such looses some detail because the HD video frame has a 1920 x 1080 dimension, and that is used to display your larger image, after which you are zooming in which again looses detail.
Try the Cropping Tool rather than Zoom de-select Fill Color
Although I have VS ultimate that has Boris Graffiti I have not used the plug-in but will investigate its image editing options, or the means to zoom whilst retaining pixels.
I have sent a e-mail to you which you should have received by now?

Re: Photo zoom IN quality is horrible.
I understand this. But there are a lot of graphic functions for example you can paint with different brushes on your video and make animation of it. So it looks just a little bit strange that Corel does not have so simple function.lata wrote:Hi

OK. I'll try it.lata wrote: Try the Cropping Tool rather than Zoom de-select Fill Color
I think i can make some video that show how it works. There are some details that can be not obvisios.lata wrote: Although I have VS ultimate that has Boris Graffiti I have not used the plug-in but will investigate its image editing options, or the means to zoom whilst retaining pixels.
Of course received it. I'am at work now. so i can not open project here. But i'll open it at home.lata wrote: I have sent a e-mail to you which you should have received by now?

Re: Photo zoom IN quality is horrible.
I've made the video about zoom in Corel and Boris. It's 720p, original is 1600*900, but you can see the difference. Very important thing that if you will use Boris for zoom animation set "linear" option, it looks like better for me.
I used another picture, but it also big.
