PSP X5 Crop Tool Error
I'm having an infuriating problem with the crop tool. I click on the side bar to crop an image, set the ratio, then left click and hold on the image to either move the selection or expand/contract it and PSP crops the image before I can do anything. My head now hurts!!
Any help please?

Re: PSP X5 Crop Tool Error
Are you accidentally double-clicking? That will apply the crop.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16

Re: PSP X5 Crop Tool Error
Are you using a mouse to work with the image. Have you tried using a different mouse. Or changing the sensitivity of the mouse.

Re: PSP X5 Crop Tool Error
Thanks for the replies. I'm not accidentally double clicking but will have a look at the sensitivity settings. I've since noticed that this appears to happen when I've been using the program for a while.

You should set the size, ratio or anything else BEFORE you crop, not after.Dave_3554 wrote:I'm having an infuriating problem with the crop tool.

Any help please?
Apply the Crop Rectangle, set the settings, then crop using the Apply icon.
I never click on the side bar as it might move the rectangle.

Re: PSP X5 Crop Tool Error
You need to determine what steps cause this problem as it is only if it can be duplicated that others might be able to help.
If I choose the crop tool in PSP X5 , the last used crop shows up, I can cancel that and set a new set of dimensions or use another preset.
If I move my cursor over the crop area I have a 4 directional arrow showing that I can move the crop area from anywhere inside the crop area (not just that centre spot). If I place the cursor over the corner node I get a two directional arrow for resizing or a curved arrow for rotating . If I click inside the crop area and drag, it moves the area and does not crop.
I have tried clicking, and releasing but still no crop til I double click.
I also have the floating crop, cancel, rotate bar below the crop area.
Once again I ask do you have another mouse to test, have you checked your sensitivity of your clicks. (Could be a dirty mouse contacts, so try another mouse - you do have a backup mouse don't you?)
