I have a few questions regarding PSP X6
If I download the trial version of PSP X6 do I need to uninstall Ver X4 first? Otherwise if I don't like X6 will it be simple to revert to my current version of PSPX4?
I am using Windows 7 32 bit. Corel site only refers to trial of PSP X6 64bit. Is this OK with 32 bit Windows?
I have got my current programme in a bit of a muddle and often wondered about reinstalling it. I have too many things in My Collections and also in Organise Trays and have found these difficult to remove. A few of the tools seem to be very slow and unreliable, especially the Text tool. I feel a fresh start might be best but had never heard of the HAIL MARY approach. Do you think this would be advisable to clean it all up and start again?
I would like to have my Ver X4 working better before trying one of the new versions.
Thanks
Marge.

Re: From PSPX4 to PSPX6
1) No you don't need to uninstall X4. PSP is designed to work well with previous installs.
2) X6 is the first version to include 64-bit so it gets the attention. However, PSP X6 lets you install 32-bit or 64-bit or both. In your case, since your computer is 32-bit, it will only install the 32-bit version.
3) I have no idea what the HAIL MARY approach is.

Refers to holding down the Shift key while starting PSP from the Desktop icon.
This resets PSP to default settings, not sure if it will clear your trays though.

Re: From PSPX4 to PSPX6
Thanks for replies. I have decided not to go to X6 for now as it appears there may be a few bugs not fixed yet. I will attempt to tidy up my X4 first.
I have two options I am considering. The first is to try the Hail Mary gambit and see what happens. Otherwise I can select File--Preferences--Reset Preferences and see what happens. Both promise not to delete any files from my hard drive.
Now for the big question. Do you know if these options will produce any different results and which one should I try? I have nothing I would not mind losing (I think). It is mainly the workspace and palettes which are somewhat confused and I am pretty sure that I have confused the program and factory default settings might sort it out.
