CamStudio 2.7.2
Camstudio's mp4 files are not accepted by Videostudio Pro X6 yet, they play well on other players.

Re: CamStudio 2.7.2
Can they be inserted in the VS timeline? If so, can you right click and give us the exact Properties? That will at least give us a clue as to which codecs -- video and audio -- were used to produce the files...

No, they cannot be inserted into the time line. Error message: Unable to open file. File format mismatch. How did they encode to mp4? No problem using VLC player. VS not flexible enough, i guess.
However, AVI works well.

Re: CamStudio 2.7.2
Do you have a program which will tell you the properties of the file, and particularly the codecs used on it?

Re: CamStudio 2.7.2
Can you upload a short (10-20 secs) sample mp4 file to a free webhosting site for us to download? We can then try to duplicate what you are getting.pepegota wrote:No, they cannot be inserted into the time line. Error message: Unable to open file. File format mismatch. How did they encode to mp4? Re: CamStudio 2.7.2
Would like to know how does one change codecs from one pack to another?
Is there a program for that or can it be done in VideoStudio?
Just wondering in the event I have a similar issue in the future.
Thanks in Advance;

Re: CamStudio 2.7.2
1. Open Camstudio and select options.
2. Under options select "Video Options."
3. Under compressor change the codec.
A better codec for mp4 is Intel lYUV Codec
