Unable to Install x6

I am trying to install the trial version of x6, wanted to get it up and running and make sure it worked on this laptop before buying, I had an older version on an older computer. However, it installs, but then crashes every time on the setup stage. I have tried rebooting, doing a clean uninstall, turning off security and trying to install as an administrator, and I get the same problem every time! Would be very grateful if anyone out there knows how to remedy this so I can move forward! Thanks!!

I think this problem is best put to Corel.

Have you tried disabling your firewall and trying again?

I tried to ask them but because I havent purchased this new version yet, they would not help me with it and rather callously sent me here. I havent tried that, not sure if I know how but I will see if I can figure it out.

Nope, turning off the firewall didn't do it either. it starts with the setup and then crashes. I tried checking compatibility problems and the computer made some changes (this was yesterday before I posted here) and that didn't help either. ugh! I need to get the new version up and running on here.

Can't anyone help? I need to get the program working and I can't pay for a full version until I can even get this working! Thanks! Working on a deadline here.

In another thread, from what I recall, another application running on the computer was causing a crash. The user turned off applications one by one and found where the interference occured. Also, I think a video card caused a problem. Vague, I know, but problems like yours are isolated instances as the program installs for most users. Good luck.

Thanks Mark, I did at one point turn off all other programs that were running, but will try again.
