Paint Shop Pro X5
I have some photos of old magazine covers, some of which weren't taken straight on, so that the covers aren't square. With previous versions of Paint Shop Pro, I could drag a corner out until it made the image look square [actually, rectangular], but I can't figure out how to do it with this version.
Anyone have any idea how to square up the edges of an image?

Re: squaring up image edges
Are you talking about straightening an image, or correcting perspective?
Both the Straighten and Perspective tools are under one button on the Tools toolbar. Click on the little triangle to the right of the icon.
Or try the Pick tool (arrow, keyboard shortcut = K) that shares a button with the Move tool. Use the Ctrl or Shift key while dragging a corner to change perspective.

Re: squaring up image edges
Here's an example. I want to pull the upper left corner in this image until the left edge is straight up and down.

Re: squaring up image edges
I was able to do this using the pick tool in free mode.

Re: squaring up image edges
Yes, that's exactly what I want to do. I'll have to give it a try. I wasn't getting anywhere with the pick tool.
Thanks a lot! I hope I can make it work.

Re: squaring up image edges
Yes, it worked. It's a bit trickier than it was with the earlier version I had, because the image moved as you dragged it, so you could see exactly where you wanted it to be. With version X5, you have to guess if it's right and release the pick tool and hope it's the way you want it. But, at least I can do it.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Re: squaring up image edges
The Perspective Correction Tool works well with this.
Zoom in on the image as big as you can so you can see where the nodes go.
Drag the nodes to line up with the corners of the existing image, see attached:

Re: squaring up image edges
Thanks. That worked too. I tried the pick tool and the perspective tool before, and I couldn't get them to do what I wanted. Hopefully, when I run into this again, I'll remember what to do.
