Shortcut to toggle all applied Filters

Post by ariel »

Browsed ASP manual, googled around - found no answer.

Is there a keybard shortcut to toggle the applied "Filters" on and off?

In addition, a one-click solution would be nice (couldn't figure that out either)

Ariel

There is a keyboard solution that will take you back to the beginning of your workflow. Settings, Apply Initial Settings will take you back to whatever filters you apply to all images (as defaults, either to ALL raws, or just to all raws from THIS camera). It will also undo any flags you have set. It is assigned to [Ctrl] [Shift] + R by default. But be aware that unless your next command is Undo Apply Initial Settings - that is [Ctrl] + Z, all your hours of creative work will be lost :(

a non destructive solution is
[Ins] create a new version and switches to it
[Ctrl+R] Resets the version to defaults. And when you're done comparing
[Del] Deletes the version again and you're back to your original version.

Fair enough, but then (now I understand what Ariel was asking about) what is the Filter Panel and its shortcut about? I don't seem to be able to make anything happen with it. Your book doesn't seem to mention it. Nor can I find the term in the AS help file. :?

Search for filter in ASG..
It is mentioned.

Or press the funnel shaped icon in the top icon row. It is fairly obvious.

I looked at all the instances of Filter that the Document Viewer could find using its search function.
I also searched - in vain - for the expression "Filter Panel".
I know how to use the filter function. I even use it as part of my workflow. I even know how to bring up and dismiss the Filter dialog using my mouse.

What I don't know is what the shortcut "Filter Panel" does. If it still has some action attached to it, I cannot see what that action is. I thought it might be the action Ariel was after. Who knows?

Filter panel just toggles the display of the filter if I remember correctly.
