Text Effect.

Is there a way to make 3D transparent Text? So that it would look as if Transparent 3D Text characters were embedded in a solid surface? Imagine a transparent 3D letter pushed into 2D surface. This would wrap the surface around the letter, kind of like a river around a rock.

Are you looking for a text cut-out effect? Or are you actually looking to distort an image at the edges of text?

Here's one where I used text to create a selection, the used the cutout effect on the selection.

If this is not what you want, do you have an example you can provide?

So the Text Selection is Copy/Pasted from one Image to another Image and then the Effects are applied to the Text Selection on the Second Image. The Effects don't Copy/Paste with the Text Selection from the original image. Thanks!
