I updated to Win 8.1 Pro with Media Center today, and now ASP crashes after the splash screen appears. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling ASP, but that did not solve the problem. Please help, I have over 200 raw photos to process. Print screen of the error is attached.

Try changing the compatibility settings of the program.
1. Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel AfterShot Pro\build\"*
2. Right click AfterShotPro.exe and choose Troubleshoot Compatibility
3. Follow the wizard
* Those using the 32 bit version of Win8 should drop the "(x86)" from the path

Re: Aftershot Pro crash after Win 8.1 Pro upgrade
I tried the compatibility settings to no avail. Turns out there was a partially installed patch from Microsoft that required a reboot to complete the installation. once I rebooted, ASP worked fine. Figures Microsoft would release a major update - and then release patches to the new version on the same day. The auto-updater installed the patches in the background, but the reboot was require to finish the process. At least I documented the problem in case someone else runs into the same thing.
