Can someone please send me the video too? I'm now on the mend, if slowly, but getting back into things...

The only difference in the two files seems to be the extension used, all properties appear identical.

The original uses “m2ts”, whilst the converted file uses “m2t”

Did you try re-naming the M2T to use M2TS.

Maybe your device only recognises m2ts types???
I used VX X6 to render the original m2ts file to a mt2 file using the "same as first clip" option. The attached image shows that the properties have some differences.
The mts2 and mt2 file would not play on any of my TVs (a Sony HD and a Samsung HD) via a USB stick. Both files do play via USB plugged into my WD Streaming Video device.

Canuck
That's a good finding. Why does X6 render with different parameters when we select "Same as first clip". Is that a bug

I have sent you the clip

Are the Sony and Samsung Bluray or simply HD devices?

When you say do not play are the files recognised or just do not show?
Did you try renaming the MTS types to use MPG as the files extension, do they now play via your USB

Lata
The files do play if rendered as MPEG-2 or MP4 as posted earlier. The problem is only with H.264

Hi babdi

I was interested if Canuck had the same issues in playing the re-named files.
I realise that you have an issue in playing some formats.

By the way I did send via e-mail a MPG file, can you confirm whether you are able to play that file?

If you were to render to AVCHD using Mpeg compression the new file would use MTS as its extension, are you able to play that? Use Make Movie Templates Manager to create your template.
