Playback issues

Post by babdi »

Hello again

Video studio Pro X6
I produced a 1980x1080 50p AVCHD video shot from Sony Cybershot HX 300
The details of the clip are:
Type:H.AVC
Bitrate:25.70 Mbps
Resolution: 1920x1080
Framerate:50 fps
Aspect ratio :16:9
Profile :High profile
Frame type: Progressive
Audio
Type: Dolby Digital
Sampling rate:48 KHz
Bitrate:256 Kbps
Channel:Stereo

I produced this as AVC H.264 1980x1080/50p (28 Mbps) and as AVC H.264 1980x1080/50i (28Mbps)
This does not play on Sony Bravia TV which can play direct from a USB. My TV supports all formats
India runs PAL system

However if I produce as Mpeg or MP4 it plays

Also if I play the clip without processing thro' X6 it plays nice.

Where is the problem

I'm a bit confused.

Can you confirm that your tv should play theses files
1. AVC H.264 1980x1080/50p (28 Mbps)
2. AVC H.264 1980x1080/50i (28Mbps)

What is the problem, does the tv not recognise the file, it recognises it but doesn't play it, it recognises the file but plays it badly?

Hi

I had some problems in playback of MTS files via USB stick.
I renamed the files extension from MTS to Mpg, the Player then recognised the file as a video and played ok.
I need to run more tests but feel it may be just my systems playback capabilities?

My next suggestion would be to use a different programme to make your file and try that on your tv. If it works we know either VS is doing something odd to the file, or the codec it is suing is not compatible with your tv. If it doesn't work, it is probably safe to assume that your tv does not play this file type.
Try downloading a free trial of adobe premiere elements or another similar programme.

Adobe premier elements does have option to encode at H.264 1980x1080 50p
If I select H.264 it encodes as a MP4

Hi

Can you make a short sample available so we can download then try playing on our DVD Player.
We can also render to other formats to try those.

As I said I cannot play raw MTS files, but do play if I change the extension to MPG
Strange I know as a BD DVD will play ok and those use MTS files within the Stream folder.

Hi

You will not be able to attach to the forum, I was thinking of SkyDrive from your windows account
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/skyd ... nload#apps

Google also provide sharing, as far as I know???

Its free, you simply upload the file then provide a download link, either attach to your post are e-mail.

20 Mb is quite small as video files go I assume it to be very short.

If you are really stuck you can e-mail to me, I think 20 Mb should just about e-mail, not sure of the limit nowadays?
let me know and I will send you my e-mail address

Have you tried changing the extension to .m2t, which is one of the formats apparently acceptable to your TV and which of course includes .mts as part of the .m2t transport stream format.

Hi babdi

I have sent you an e-mail.

Re-naming video file.

As I mentioned in an earlier post I have to re-name my MTS/M2T files to use the extension MPG before I can play on my DVD Player via USB.
I guess that's the format that my player recognises, others may be different
