Not enough memory in pro x3

Post by zehavi »

Helo,
During preparing a collage, when I try to save the project, I receive the the message that I don't have enough memory.
I am using windows 7 and as far as I know, I don't have memory problems. I am working a lot with VideoStudio x4 without any problems.
Any help will be appreciate.
Thank you,
Abraham

More information please. Are you saving your collage as a jpg after merging layers or are you saving it as a psp file to keep layers intact for further editing.
Are you doing any cropping before saving.
When does it occur ?
After a collage with 1 image, 2 images combined, 3 images etc .
Try different settings/ arrangements to work out some more details.
We cannot really help unless we can possibly duplicate the problem or it is a common problem .

After merging layers I am saving it as a psp file (it is not my first collage). I am not doing any crop before saving, it occur after combining 2 images.
Please let me know what do you mean by trying different settings/ arrangements to work out some more details.
Thanks again.

PSPX3 is known to have memory hogging issues. It uses a lot of memory needlessly, and doesn't always release that memory when it's done.

Some things you can try are decreasing the number of Undo steps allowed. File -> Preferences -> General Progream Preferences under the Undo section.

Or you can use a memory management program. This is a program that you run specifically to clean out unnecessary information from memory. I see CleanMem recommended by one of the users on the forums a lot.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/cleanmem.html

When run it's supposed to help clean out any RAM no longer being actively used by programs like PSP. Might be able to help. Of course, that's only if this is the problem.

Hi Zehavi,
By different settings arrangements I mean.
1. Do a clean start of X3.
2. load a couple of images that are smalll .
3. copy and paste one to the other as a new layer and then save that as a psp file.
4. Repeat 2 and 3 with larger images
5. Repeat 2 and 3 with larger numbers of small images
6. Repeat 2 and 3 with larger numbers of large images.
What we are trying to do here is work out what combination causes this error , bit like a process detective.
Does it always happen no matter how many images small or large or is it something that starts after some processing and saving?
If you can determine what causes it and when then a solution can be sought.

Thank you all for your help.
I have just installed the PSPX6, and it works well.
It looks that the PSPX3 has really memory problems.
