VideoStudio Pro X6 Create a video file issue
I've been using VS Pro X6 for a few months now and up until recently have had no issues with it. I'll get straight to the point as it's not something i've seen elsewhere on this forum.
When attempting to create a video file I've been getting error messages saying "No common media between pins". I'm not going to lie, I have no idea what this means! I had the same problem a few weeks ago, but after downloading and installing the most recent update patch, things had been going smoothly. It's so odd because it seems so random as to when it happens. Sometimes it happens when I try to render in 1080p, sometimes in 720p. I usually make videos WMV files as that's what I'm used to. I thought maybe there was another update patch I needed to install, but I haven't found anything that I don't already have.
Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know how I can fix this? Spent a few hours putting together a video and now I can't render it!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Tried this again today. Also tried rendering in a different format (MPEG4) to see if I could get that to work instead. Had the exact same problem, it gets about 20% in to it, then stops and shows the error.

A google search reveals that that message occurs with many video programs. Perhaps you can find a solution there.
Have you tried to render a video without using any transitions, effects, etc?

The only effect I'm using is the fade to black that comes with the software. It's happened on videos with very little editing, and some with a lot of editing.

What is the original format of the video you are editing? If you could right click on a clip in the timeline and give us the Properties, or upload a screen grab of the Properties box, that would be helpful. And do more if other formats are involved.

Re: VideoStudio Pro X6 Create a video file issue
I usually use a mixture of Quick Time Movie Files (.MOV), Microsoft AVI Files for video and Microsoft WAV Files for audio. On occasion there are some JPEGs, MP3s and some Portable Network Graphics (.png) files.
I'm just a little confused as to why it would happen with some and not others when the file types I'm using are the same with each video I make.
I hope this helps, if not I'll sort out some screen grabs tomorrow.
Thanks for the response!

Re: VideoStudio Pro X6 Create a video file issue
One problem is that both .mov and .avi are merely wrapper extensions which cover a huge variety of actual formats. That was the main reason I wanted to know the specific Properties of the files you are using. They will usually indicate, say, whether the .mov file is in reality an AVCHD file using the h.264 codec or some other form of mpeg-4 or indeed some other format altogether. And there are over 800 formats which call themselves .avi...

Hi
And if the error occurs in the same place every time you try to render a particular project then it may suggest the content on the timeline at that point.
Maybe the type of video used there?
You indicate using Fade to Black, try replacing that with a Black Color + Crossfade

Managed to get you a screencap from the .MOV and .avi files I'm using.

Sorry for the delay in replying to your problem.
Did you view the timeline at the position where the error occurs, 20% maybe it was in the same place each time, and maybe playing one of those clips.
Try a new project using only one type, do you get errors?
Then try the other video type.
The Mov type looks quite standard although I don’t recognise the audio Low Complexity
The AVI is using Lagarith, not sure if Video Studio supports this codec???
The frame size is a little unusual at 1920 x 1054, 1920 x 1080 would be widescreen 16:9
You may be best in converting your files to a more suitable editable format, Ken recently recommended this , I did install without problems, making sure I deselected the toolbar options, not use the converter as yet but does seem to do most things?
