audio but no video

Hello everyone. New poster here. I'm trying out X6 (trial version), which I'm going to buy if I can get this to work. I just want to do simple screen capture videos. I have done several test videos and in every one, I get audio, but no video. If I play the video in the Video Studio software, or using Windows media player, the result is the same, audio, no video. I've tried full screen captures, defined area captures, captures of active programs. I am using two screens, and I made sure that I selected "primary" screen, which is what I want to capture. I do have the user manual and I'm following the steps outlined in it. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks to all in advance.

Long time since I've done this, try turning off hardware acceleration on the graphics card, or disconnect one monitor and have just the one while capturing.
If either of these work it's the two monitors and the way they are set up that is causing the problem.
