screen capture

Post by ottersea »

I am using VSX4 and I wonder is it possible to capture the computer screen with this version? If not will any of the newer versions that will capture the screen? If not do you know of a program that will do that? Thanks.

I think screen capture only started with X5... There are also a variety of other programs out there which will do it, including Camtasia and Ashampoo Snap.

Thanks I now see that X6 has screen capture. I am very happy with X4 except that I have been trying lately to capture screen video. I have tried the free version of microsoft expressions but it only allows 10 minutes of capture and I need more than that. Is there a time limit in X6 for the amount of time you can capture? Thanks.

Ottersea,

Since you're happy with X4, you might want to give these screen capture freebies a try.

Hope this helps.

Do you know if they have a time limit on how long you can capture? That is my concern since the free microsoft one has a 10 minute limit on it.

When I try to use screen capture in V6 I keep getting the message "an error on your audio device". Even if there is no audio and just a still shot. Any ideas why this may be occurring? Anyone have a similar or same situation? Please advise!! Thanks much.

Hi dbz2000
Sorry you are having problems with Screen Capture.
For me it works ok but running Windows 7 so cannot test W8.
Hopefully windows 8 users will reply.

Corel is on facebook
https://www.facebook.com/Corel maybe asking the question there will help

Also do a search of the Corel Knowledge Base for Screen Capture there are articles referring to enabling audio, I found some for X5 but should be similar for X6

Hope this helps

If there is a problem with the settings and/or your sound card and it's compatibility with VS you will get an error message each time it tries to connect, even if it isn't required.
Not a solution, but at least a reason for continuing error messages.
Do we need to find the solution?
If so, what are your pc specs, sound card, are drivers up to date, directx up to date, settings in VS.

Thanks to all for the quick replies. All drivers are up to date and I need to do a little more investigating to see if I can resolve the issue. Not a big deal for me since I have other programs that can do screen capture. Just thought I would try it out since I do work in V6 more than any of my other programs. All help is appreciated. Be well.
