Here's a quickie screen shot video of me trying to load this same image into VSP...

As far as I know the largest file size you can attach to this forum is 256Kb..

I doubt if your original images are that small, but if so, zip the image and attach the zip file to your post.

Otherwise a sharing site would be best.
Windows Skydrive is free and will do the job, otherwise any of your choosing.

OK

How are you trying to add the images to Video Studio. :?:
Try this……….
Right click the timeline and select Insert Photo
Browse the hard drive for the image and select Open

Jpeg Images.
Some problems can occur if the images have been saved as Progressive rather than Baseline.
Some problems can occur if the camera has added exif details to the images.

I had some problems with a laptop, the problem was my graphics driver, not something you would expect with a new pc?

Just noticed your reply……
I have no problem inserting that image to Video Studio X6, by the way the image is baseline
Hey Trevor - no need for the "shared" sites, what I posted is the same image. I've cropped the images based on the comments in this thread, all the way down to 780 pixels wide, and it doesn't make any difference. Now, based on your comments, all of my jpeg photos do have EXiF info attached to them. I can remove that and try them again, but I will bet it's not the issues. I can save them in a separate folder, remove all of the attached data from them and then try uploading them into VSP. Now I don't know what is meant by "progressive" versus "baseline". I've not seen that before, so will have to research it. And again, all of these images uploaded into VSP x4 without any errors!!!

What error message? To what website are you uploading?

Uploading, as in importing, to Videostudio Pro x6... and works fine on x4... don't need to use a freebie site, I have my own web server. What image I posted, it's the same one I'm trying to pull into VSP x6.

Instead up uploading that video why don't you upload the original, unmodified photo file. From what digital cameras are the photos (make/model)? What size are they?

One does not Upload" into VS X6, you "add" the source files. Upload refers to "transferring" files from your computer to a website not to a local program you are running.

Resaved the same file without EXiF data. Tried to add it and same error, file mismatch.

Resaved it again, verifying it was not Progressive - in PSP x6 it has Standard, Lossless, and Progressive, so I've tried both Standard and Lossless, neither worked, same error message again.

So far I've tried both 32 and 64 bit, several file sizes, and just went with the photo uploaded here to see if I could get it to work, and after at minimum a dozen changes, not one has worked. So, something is "wrong" either with VSP x6 and/or my laptop. As I stated earlier, very frustrating that none of this happens in VSP x4!

Hi

Thanks for the MP4 video.

At least we have confirmed that you are importing, trying to import the images correctly.

That error message is similar to the one I saw with my Laptop with the graphics driver issue, not saying you have the same problem.

Things to try……….

Open the Samples library page and select the Images, try to move them to the timeline, do you have any problems using the sample images.
If yes, are you asked to re-link, if yes, note the re-link target/location, does it point to X6 or another version maybe X2

Go to settings Library Manager Reset Library

When you re-installed did you clear personal settings?
Did you install using Administrator rights.
Have you installed the patch for X6, I think there is only one?

Try running the program as Administrator?

Time to retire, hope the above helps

Sorry just noticed you are using a Lenovo, and you will never guess what version my Laptop was.
So back to the graphics driver issue.
Please view this web page, then do a windows update and search for all updates, including Optional Windows Updates

Now here's a weird one! The video I created on x4 yesterday - well I imported it into x6 and it plays fine. Then when I try to add the photo that I've posted here, well, guess what???? IT ADDED WITHOUT ANY ERRORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, is there something internally wrong in x6 about creating new projects? Too bizarre!

EDIT - OMG! After that, it now works fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTH is with that?? If I now start a new project, and add in photos, it works without any issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope, not a Lenovo issue, even though I thought it might be, but the comments you made gave me the idea to pull in an earlier version and try it out. For some reason now it's working fine. Add to it, I uploaded a 4800 pixel wide photo, which is the standard width from the camera, AND IT ALLOWED IT! I had changed the settings to "adjust size to fit" or whatever that is, but it is working now!!!!!!!!!

Un-friggin-believable!

OMG I'm going to kiss my laptop! I just uploaded a series of 69 photo images into VSP x6 with no problems! All of them are 1600x900. Ain't that a hoot! Go figure, uploaded one video created in x4 and now it's working fine!!!!!!!! I really don't know what I should do other than thank you all for so many comments, even though some were a bit aggressive, but what the heck. Maybe the other people having this issue can do the same - open a new project, upload a previously created video with photos, then you will be able to upload all the photos you want, delete the video, and create your new one! Works fine now.

In an effort to show you how well it worked, here's the very easy video made up of photos, 69 in total, that were all reduced to 900 pixels wide so that they would work better in the mpeg video:

http://www.hugginsnet.com/videos/Acro_N ... -10-14.mp4

So, if anyone else is having the "file mismatch" errors, it's possible to make it work but you have to follow what I said, upload a known video of the sources you're trying to upload, then act like you're adding photos to it, but just upload them to the library. After that, delete the original video and you can create your own!!! Works fine, lasts long time...

Hi

Good news is always welcome, very glad you have managed to fix your Jpeg import issues.
I must admit very strange indeed, but if its working that’s all that counts.

Has anyone else found another fix for this? I tried to add a video that worked 2 days ago and tried to add photo to the library but got the same error. The part that is really frustrating for me is that about 2.5 weeks ago it worked fine then all of a sudden the error started to pop up and i couldn't do anything. Then about 3 days ago I thought I would try again before I move on to a different software and then it worked! :D So feeling good about the program today I was going to purchase video studio ultimate x6, but thought well let make sure it still works. Well guess what it doesn't I get the same error message as before. If someone has any advise on how to correct this please let me know, I really like this software and I don't want to have to find a new one.

Edit: I didn't understand the link from above on a fix until now, AND IT WORKS NOW!!!!! I guess I will see if the issue comes back or not!

When you uploaded the video file, did you create a new project? I had to create a new project and after that it accepted photo uploads.

Yeah Chromenut I did try that but no success. The only thing that seems to be working right is when I right click on the program and run troubleshoot compatibility and follow the steps.

Okay, well I didn't go into any real details as I thought I had earlier, so now I've recorded the steps to show you how on a youtube video.

First, here's the instructions on how to upload photos:

* After opening VSP, click on File > New Project - you need to create a new project for this.
* Next, click on File > Insert media file to timeline > Insert photo, then select the photos you want to upload into the timeline.

That's it! You can watch my video to see what I'm stating here:

Hi Chris

Are you saying that if you run the program in XP compatibility that you can insert Images. :?:

I don’t like flogging a dead horse but did you read my web page regarding the issues I had. The workround was to run in XP Compatibility mode, till I found the cause.
But there were lots of other things going wrong regarding the library clips and there location on the hard drive
If you havent already done so can you read this:-
http://lata.me.uk/corel/lenovo/lenovo.htm

I would advise that you also reset the library via Settings Library Manager, just in case there is a corrupt file within the library.

Chromenut
I don’t understand why opening a new project should then allow you to add your images, but if that works then that’s all that counts.
Do you have any other issues in running the program or accessing the library clips?

The easiest way to insert an image to the timeline is to right click the timeline and choose Insert Photo.
