I used the Screen recording feature to record a little tutorial that is about 4 minutes long. I was shocked, when I watched it afterward, to hear that the sound, although fine at the start, gradually becomes fainter, higher pitch, and overall totally unusable. I thought it was just a fluke but I tried it with 3 videos, and I always get the same problem. I used the settings by default, changing only the file name and location.
Is there more to set for the screen capture to work correctly?

Just in case someone could try to test this, here is a link to a "raw" piece of recording (editing not done yet) where I can hear the sound loud in the beginning and inaudible at the end. Do you hear the same thing or is it my computer (which might actually be a problem):

FWIW, I certainly get the same as you -- with the fade out of audio relatively early in the clip. However, I can't help out with screen capture in VS as I never use it (never got it to work properly in an earlier version, so my fallback is another commercial program.)

Re: Sound in screen recording (VSP X6)
Hi Cassel
It does look like an audio set up issue.
From your PC Sound Properties , (right click the speaker icon lower right of desktop).
Choose Recording devices, set your Microphone as default.
From Screen Capture expand the panel to show Settings
Select Sound Check –set the Input Volume level.
By the way the audio controls should mute the speakers when Mic recording to reduce feedback. Make sure your speakers are off when recording, using headphones is the best option.
Audio drivers/properties display the differently, so I may see different settings to you, but all do a similar job.
If the problem still persists you may be best to re-install the Audio Driver
