I am trying to add a few sounds to the library so I can use them in my project. I downloaded a few wav files and when I try to import them in my media library, I get the message that File format mismatch.
I am quite puzzled because I did import wav files in the past without any issue. Is there something else to wav files than just the name and extension which could be causing this error?

Could you provide a link to a few of the downloadable wav files that are giving you problems? We could then test and check if we have the same problemCassel wrote:I am trying to add a few sounds to the library so I can use them in my project. Re: File format mismatch on wav file
Well there are wav files - and then there are wav files - not all wav files are created equal, it depends on what programme produced them and what codecs were used.
a solution which usually works is to find a free audio programme which will open them -- like Audacity available from :-
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
if it opens them then re-save giving them a slightly different name to make sure you don't mix them up - then try again in VideoStudio with the new files.

Re: File format mismatch on wav file
I just tried Audacity, and I can open it, save as a wav, and still cannot open it in VSP.

Re: File format mismatch on wav file
I downloaded your file and had no trouble at all in both inserting it into X6 and playing...

Re: File format mismatch on wav file
Thanks. In view of another issue I am experiencing, I seriously suspect now that there is a problem with the computer and it affects various programs like VSP (I am also having issues with Camtasia so that is not good!) I have been suspecting such major problems since a while and this might just tip the scale.
Thanks for your time.
