see attached I reset preferences using the shift key and the instructions on the cited web site.
neither worked I also restarted the computer. If I open paint shop X5 the paper edges can be seen behind the image but if you look at the enclosed screen print you can see paper edges are not visible in paint shop pro X6.
but in paint shop pro X5 you can see the papers edge see below
but in paint shop pro X6 you can not see the papers edge see below

I assume you were working with Print Layout. I tried that in X6 and got the result shown below, which is what you want, I think. When I click on the Print Layout the window opens with the "paper" on it. I dragged the photo to it, X6 responded it would not fit, do I want it resized. Yes, and the image was placed on the sheet. Selecting settings brings up choices such as landscape or portrait, etc. So, I think this function worked correctly for me.

I'm getting results similar to Mark's. Are you images not printing correctly or is it just a matter that it's not behaving the way you are accustomed?
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

***** Sometimes I print on different size papers an image that fits perfectly on a 13 X 19 sheet of paper will require some cropping on an 8.5 by 11 sheet I was able to do this crop on the print layout since in version 5 and version 4 your could see the paper outline behind the photo.

Now that you have added the second picture to your original post, I understand what you mean. It appears that you want to crop by printing only the part of the photo that is within the paper. Yes, X5 gives a much better view of the expected result. I guess you can work around to achieve close to what you want by resizing and moving the photo vertically and horizontally while the edges of the paper are visible. Alternatively you can do the crop in edit, save the crop as a new image and then print that.
This would be a request to Corel for a change back to what they had in X5. They keep fixing what ain't broke.
