I just bought ASP after a week long trial. I am very pleased by how well (and fast) ASP runs on Linux (ubuntu and soon-to-be fedora 20 user here).
The official tutorials have helped me quite a bit (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXFvdvpfNMs)
In all of them, and in posts all over I find reference to Noise Ninja. I understood that old version of ASP used to include some basic NN functionality, that was eventually removed. However, I also read that with version 1.2.0.7, "NN is back", if separately installed and (optionally) registered.
PictureCode still makes the legacy noiseninja available for linux users, here: http://www.picturecode.com/nn_legacy/index.php
NN for Linux is just a single executable file, than can be put in any folder.
Also, the legacy noise ninja can still be registered (by asking for it to PictureCode, they allow paypal payments).
I have the NN executable (unregistered) in my home folder, and it runs AOK, but ASP 1.2.0.7 is not showing me the "Noise Ninja" adjustment option.
The question for ASP 1.2.0.7 users is: where do I need to move the NN executable in order for ASP to "detect it" and show the "Noise Ninja" adjustment (basic) setting?
I can't find any ASP Preference setting to enable NN nor any relevant documentation about this.
ps. I am aware of alternatives to Noise Ninja including wavelet denoise.
Thanks

I think its the registration number that ASP needs to unlock the built-in NN. Looks like the only way to do it now is as an update since I don't see this option available in the menu's anymore. If you didn't have the NN registration number in a previous version of ASP , I think your sol. Sorry

It was my impression that if you had NN registered under a previous version of ASP it would run again properly in 1.2.0.7
So a suggestion you could try is to download an earlier version of ASP (not 1.1.0.30 which started the row by disabling NN registered) and register your NN license with that version - you can find the earlier versions on Corel's update page
Then update your ASP with 1.2.0.7 and Bob's your uncle!
At least in theory
