PSP X5 & X6 Crashes in "Manager" tab

Post by Geoff Paugam »

Nature of the problem - If you spend about a minute in the MANAGER tab PSP X6 will crash. I had the same problem with PSP X5.

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?) - Any file, mainly Jpegs & TIFFs, original or from the web.

Error Codes -

Try changing to Edit mode and see if it stays stable there. Then try removing all the images in that folder that Manage accesses except one . Perhaps place in that folder an image that you have saved in Edit mode so that it is safe.
Then access Manage mode again and see if the problem occurs. There have been some problems with manage mode accessing some files to produce thumbnails - bad Exif info or other things.

That is my work around. I discovered with X5 that by changing the default workspace to the EDIT tab...I was able to do my work but I still would like to catalog my pics instead of using Picasa, CS2, Elements 11 or Aftershot.

I'll try your recommendation and see how it goes.

Thanks for your help!
