PHP X3

Post by Andy50000 »

Hi everyone

I bought a copy of Paint Shop Photo Pro X3 ultimate, and when boot up the program, I get ads to buy more stuff. I paid for the program. How do I kill the ads when I boot it up. OS Windows 7.

When and where did you buy PSP x3?

PSP is version X6 from Corel, and no ads exist within the program. Ads show up when you close the program. If you're seeing ads in the program, I think you should return the software.

When I start PSP X3 I get a pop up add suggesting that I purchase PSP X6 for $129. There is a button I can click to Learn More, a button that says Close (bottom Right) and over bottom left a check box that says "Do not display this message again".
If I click Close then PSPX3 runs.
I have not clicked the Do Not show this message again as I am curious to see how it changes .
Clicking Close to continue with PSP X3 is no biggie anyway.
Update: If I close the program and then reopen I do not get that message so it seems to occure only after a fresh boot up.

Really? I've never seen one at the beginning so that surprises me. It's good to know that's normal though.

You should be able to turn off messages as well. Go to the Help menu, Corel Gude. Then on the guide there should be an option for settings. In there you can set message options.

I too receive such messages on start-up, both with PSP and Video Studio, after a new installation and before I click the 'do not show again' box... So it is indeed normal...

Same situation as hartfall and Ken. Advertisements on startup. My point is, I paid for it. It wasn't free and supported by advertising. How do I stop the advertisements?

Tick that box and it should not display again or thats what they seem to promise.
I have not bothered ticking as I am interested in seeing how the prices change and its no biggie to click close .
Just don't let it get under your skin!

I've tried clicking the box "Don't display this message again," several times. And it doesn't display that message again. It displays a different one.

Again, there is a messages preference dialog where you turn off receiving messages like these.

Help->Corel Guide

There will be a gear shape in the upper right-hand corner of the corel guide, click on that and you should see a menu for message preferences. It'll pop up a dialog for turning messages on or off.
