Hi,
I have downloaded PSPX6_PF.exe and tried to install on Windows XP Pro x64 edition.
The 32 bit version is correctly installed (in Program Files (x86)) and runs OK, but there is no sign of the x64 bit version in my "Program Files" folder.
I uninstalled and tried again in case I was missing some options in the installation windows - but there are no options for the 32/64 bit versions that I can see.
Any ideas how to get around this problem?
I also have found that the Corel_CreativeCollection.exe will not install. This fails with the message:
"The setup encountered a problem while trying to configure your software. Could not access file:
c:\documents and settings\john\local settings\temp\ultimate creative collection (x6)\1.0.0.1\setup\package.msi -- This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator. Would you like to continue?"
I select yes and the following error message appears:
"Error 1606. Could not access network location \."
Thanks in advance for any suggestions for getting it all working.
Regards,
John

I'm using Windows 7 - 64bit and installs PSP into the correct Program Files directory.
Curiously it also installs some PSP setup files in Program Files (x86) also. I assume this is so you can setup a 32bit version if you wish.

Re: PSP X6 does not install x64 bit version on XP PRO x64
BUT how did you choose the x64 bit version to install?
I didn't see any way to choose the type of installation, i.e. There were NO options for x64 only, x32 only or x64 and x32 together.
The only option I saw was was to try selecting the "Program Files" path for installation (where x64 bit software is usually installed), but the installer still only installed the 32 bit version in the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
I guess if there is no obvious fix for this problem, then I will have to try upgrading to Windows 7 x64 - since XP goes end-of-life next year.

Re: PSP X6 does not install x64 bit version on XP PRO x64
From memory I think mine asked if you want to install 32 or 64 bit or both.
The user guide says this.
64-bit and 32-bit installation options
When you install the application, you have the option of installing the
64-bit version, the 32-bit version, or both versions. Which version
should you choose? It really depends on your computer system and the
plug-ins and other devices you use. If you have a 64-bit operating
system, 4 or more GB of RAM, and lots of free disk space (need more
than 700 MB free), then the most flexible option is to install the 64-bit
and 32-bit versions.
Note: If you install 64-bit and 32-bit versions, the programs are listed
separately and launched separately from the Windows Start menu or
Start screen.
I would run the exe again to remove your current installation and then try again to install.

Re: PSP X6 does not install x64 bit version on XP PRO x64
Thanks for the reply.
I had tried un-installing and re-installing. Several times, and I had also tried re-installing into another account (Administrator) in case my Windows Profile was corrupted.
All with no luck.
Looks like a fresh install of Windows 7 x64 is probably the only way forward.

John
