Ending my video on a title
Hi all,
My first post. I had some very good luck on my first time using Video Pro6 making a music video for my son's upcoming event. I ended the video on a portrait of him and added a title to appear. However, as the clip proceeds the title disappears at the end of it's bar/clip. How does one get the video to end on the photo with the title in place, or, freeze on the photo and title after the tile appears. The more I extend the title bar, it just takes longer to appear and still disappears at the end. Thanks so much for your help. F

Re: Ending my video on a title
Hi,
If I'm understanding you correctly it seems all you need to do is slide the title block along to the right a little - it can be anywhere along the title track - just hover your mouse over the block left click and slide. The length of the blocks determines how long the object - be it video, image, title or sound plays for. so if you want it on screen at the end of the photo then the right hand ends of the image and title block must line up.

Re: Ending my video on a title
In my experience with X6, if you slide the title beyond the end of the video, it extends the video to fit the new end point and you get the title against a blank screen.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.
Re: Ending my video on a title
Did you make the title yourself or did you use one of the titles from the title library-which one?

Not sure what you mean. Created the title in the title line and changed the font, colour and shadow.
I have created titles for the end of videos using one of the preset movements or just direct, makes no difference.

Re: Ending my video on a title
Hi. Thanks for your replies. I used one of the custom titles. The title slides in from the bottom. There are three aligned bars: the photo; the title; and the music. The end of the bars all align at the end. The photo is displayed, the music comes to an end and the title slides up from the bottom. At the end, all goes black. How does one get the video to hang on the photo with the title still in place? If I drag the title bar from the left, it takes longer before the title shows and still disappears at the end. If I drag the title bar out from the right, it extends beyond the picture and you just see the title appearing on a black screen.
What I am trying to achieve is to have the photo come up, the title slides in from below and then stays on the picture so that viewers will have enough time to read it. The two could then fade out TOGETHER if it was possible. The way it looks now is the picture comes up, the title slides up and then poof all gone. Thanks. I tried to describe it as best I could. Frank

just make the picture stay on screen longer - just stretch it out until everyone has had time to look at it. stretch it out to a minute - 5 minutes if you like - everyone should have time to see it then.
Or are you expecting that when the video ends the image will just stay there - it does happen on some computer programmes and will usually happen in VideoStudio - but if you are burning a DVD then it can not stop at the end. DVD's do not work like that
Re: Ending my video on a title
Hi flr9003,
Here is one way to do it:
First: Create another video overlay track using Track Manager. The easiest way I can explain this without pictures it to right click on the small movie reel icon at the left side of the top video track. Then choose Track Manager. Set the number of overlay tracks to 2.
Now,
1) Put your title in the upper overlay video track, not the title track. This is the one under the very top track, the main video track. Right click in the preview window and choose "Fit to Screen."
2) Now adjust the position and length of the title in the overlay track so that it begins when you want it to, and scrolls up the screen at the speed you want. The title might extend to the right beyond the point where the photo ends.
3) Move the scrubber to the point where you want your title to freeze on the photo. You might have to lengthen the photo if it has already ended before this point.
3) Click on the word "Project" in the preview Window.
4) Click on "Edit" on the top menu.
5) On the menu under Edit, click on "Take a Snapshot." The snapshot will appear in the library.
6) Drag the snapshot from the library to the lower video Overlay track, overlay track number 2, the one under the title. Line it up on the left side with the scrubber line. Right click in the preview window and choose "Fit to Screen."
7) Drag the right side of the snapshot to the length you want.
To make sure the movie stops at the end of the snapshot
8, Position the scrubber at the end of the snapshot. Click on the word "Project" in the preview Window.
9) Click on the "]" next to the small scissors in the preview window. An orange line should appear above your timeline. This is your Preview Range.
10) When you render your movie, i.e. Share, before pressing OK to save it, choose Options and click in the small circle next to "Preview Range," and only the movie parts under the orange line will render.
