I want to have some image files printed commercially.
The print company I want to use provide a downloadable ICC printer profile that I can use to profile my image files before I send them to them for printing.
Unfortunately they only give instructions as to how to use the profile within Photoshop, a program which I don't have and don't use.
I've requested help from them, but I've not yet received a reply, hence my question here.
I'm looking for a way to apply the colour profile to my image files using PaintShop Pro X5.
I've downloaded the ICC profile and installed it (Windows 7 64-bit) and I can see it's there in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\spool\drivers\color folder.
However when I open the "Color Management" menu in PSP X5, under "Printer Profile" it reads "None" and shows the printer as being my default monochrome laser printer.
There are no other options available in the Printer Profile dropdown box.
It would appear that in order to get PSP to install a Printer Profile, I must have that printer attached to my computer and set as the current default printer, or at least have the driver for that printer installed?
This is obviously not possible, since the objective is to export my images to have them printed elsewhere.
All my searches so far have only given answers which apply to an attached printer, so does anyone know if or how I can make PSP X5 install a printer profile for a printer that is not attached?
