VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-vids
I have found a thread almost the same, but without any solution to that.
I use a tool named Bandicam to record Game-Vids with sound. These Vids get really big (10 minutes about 1,8Gig) and have a big resolution (1280x720 or so).
I can add these vids to video-studio, edit them, look at every image from each video, but rendering them is not possible, Corel Video Studio Pro X5crashes at 0% every time.
I have installed both available Servicepacks and do not know what to do to get Corel render these Videos.
I will try to create a very short video as a test and look if that is able to render.

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
Can you please eight click on one of the clips *in the Video Studio timeline or library window* and copy ALL its Properties here, or upload a screen grab of the Properties box. We need to have that information. And also, what format are you trying to render it to?

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
Here ist the requested info about the video codec and so ...
Hope that helps, thanks for looking at it ...
By the way, it is also impossible to convert that file inside video studio by using the batch conversion tools. But it is possible to convert this with other tools like any video converter, than it can be used in Corel Video Studio, too.
The same problem was in X3, i have a copy of that, too, but deinstalled now cause i reinstalled my complete Corel Video-Software due to that preoblem.
My Corel is registered, is it needed to register again to get all things?
Greetings
Hartmut

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
We still need to know what format you are trying to render your project into...
Apart from that, I would have thought that the Microsoft DTV-DVD codec would be available to VS on your computer as part of the Windows installation. What format do you convert it into using a video converter so that VS can use it?

What happens if you try Share > Create Video File > Same As First Clip?

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
I have tried this option, too, but it brings the same result. The rendering rpocess starts, 0%, then the windows whites out, when i move the mouse then an error is shown that Corel video Studio has an error. A file wit 0 Bytes is inside the directory i have choosen to create the file.
I have tried something late yesterday (Central Europ Time), i have created a very short clip with bandicam, about 5 seconds in length, same format-settings as in the big files.
This short video creates no error when creating an output video, but:
The short video has an audio added, it can be watched in VLC-player and the aufio goes from start to end. The creation from Video Studio has aufio only in about a half of the file, then the audio is muted.
Any hints? I will try bandicam-vids a little longer today, 20 seconds b.e. and look what happens, i will keep you informed.
Tnkaks and kind regards
Hartmut

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
Hi
What video settings are you using in Bandicam.
Can I assume that the properties you showed earlier are from an original Bandicam screen capture, and that you have not re-coded the video?
I have just tried Bandicam for all video capture settings at least the ones available to me, Mpeg1, Motion Jpeg, Xvid, YV12, RGB 12, and each case VS fails with rendering giving an error at 91% Out of Memory, (short 10 sec samples) I have to use Task Manager to close the program.
Using the External Codec option and Bandicam fails with errors.
I have no idea why the files from Bandicam fail. Using a conversion program may give video suitable to be edited
Have you tried using Video Studio to capture your screen? Although I think it is limited to creating WMV files at 15fps?

I have screenshotted my bandicam settings, have a look at these. I can edit these files without any problem inside VS, but am not able to create the output at last.

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
Hi
Thanks for the image, a picture paints a thousand words.
I notice that your version is different as you have an extra tab.
I downloaded Bandicap again from CNET
The downloaded file was larger at 7,062Kb
This version had the missing tab.
The Screen Capture seem so work ok and I am able to create a new video file using Video Studio. I have not edited the sample clips, simply Share Create Video File to “Same as first Video” or DV
The Bandi MPEG-1 Video Decoder type did cause a crash using Mpeg2, but was able to convert to DV
I do not have the H264 codec showing via Bandicam
I guess the question is what version of Bandicam are you using.?
Not that I can find a number.
Hope this helps.

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
I am using bandicam 1.9.0.397
I have tested a bit with different video-codecs and audio ...
It is no problem of the video codec, it seems to be a problem of audio codec. I can choose two different ways in bandicam to save audio into the video-file: MPEG1 L2 or PCM. Every file that i create that has more than some seconds of length recorded with Audio MPEG1 L2 crashes inside Corel Video Studio. I have tried the upload-youtube-thingy only, it may be that convert to DV is possible.
There is no problem inside VS when PCM is used, but its not possible to record movies without stuttering with that format. I will try to split audio inside VS, perhaps that helps ...
Thanks and greetings
Hartmut

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
I have done some more tests now:
I created a bandicam-video, H264, Sound MP1 L2 48KHz, about one minute in length, put this into the media library and restarted the program to not loose this in the media library.
Then i added the clip to the video bar and created an mp4 -> crash after 2 percent
Next try, restart and
add the clip, split audio from it, create an mp4 -> crash after 2 percent
Next try, restart and
add the clip, split audio, delete audio, create an mp4 -> no problems
Next try -> create an audio from the clip -> crash after 2 percent
Now i am looking for a solution to get an audio file out of this clip, will keep you informed. The video file is about 100 megs in size, too big for normal uploading to get this to you, perhaps i can put this into a share program like emule or put it onto my server for download, tell me if you are interested in getting such a file.
Thanks and greetings

Re: VideoStudio ProX5 crashes when rendering with bandicam-v
Hi Hartmut
I have not had much time today to test Bandicam video.
However I am having many problems especially rendering.
Your earlier comments regarding the audio format prompted me to use PCM audio.
I have just captured 3 videos to Mjpeg using PCM audio.
I have converted these to other formats without problems.
Can you try using Mjpeg with PCM audio. The file sizes are comparable to DTV-DVD, just a little lower.
I do not have the “Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder” on my pc, Video Studio does not recognise/read the properties correctly and as such struggles in rendering this video. I do not think my PC is capable of creating the Microsoft DVD video file.
As I say try MJPEG with PCM
I will of course try other video options given the time.
