This is sort of a double post to one I made in bugs forum, but I once I discovered the NN discussion I missed last May I realized this part of that post is not a bug, but I still need assistance. Original post is http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=51471 but I will repeat the relevant parts here.
I have NN registered and it appears to work in v1.2.07. I have a Sony A99, one of the newly supported cameras. It is not a surprise that v 1.2.07, released after the end of the NN contract, does not have NN profiles for the A99 in C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel AfterShot Pro\supportfiles\Profiles\NoiseNinja (in windows 7-64). In fact no newly supported camera seems to have NN profiles.
I should be able to generate them using same procedure as previously by shooting raw files the NN test chart then using "profile as chart" in ASP NN tool. But when I tested this, rather than name the new files "sonya99..." ASP offers "sonynex5n...", a camera that was supported before the NN contract ended.
My question is what is the correct procedure to add NN standard profiles for the Sony A99 (or any newly supported camera)? If I accept the "sonynex5n..." offered, that will likely change every newly supported Sony camera. But if use the past convention "sonya99..." then ASP may not recognize it.

Re: custom noise ninja profiles
I haven't got the Noise Ninja directory - probably because I haven't got a registered (or an unregistered!
) copy of NN. But if it works the same way as other profiles in AS, then you will have a control file in the directory that tells AS which profile files to read. And you will need to update that in order to "assimilate" your new profile.
