VS Pro X6 photo fade effect

Post by Beezer »

First off apologies for a confusing title, I couldn't think of another way to say it. :)

On top of my first video, I just did another Elkhound video.

But, I couldn't figure out how to get a certain effect I was wanting to use. Basically, at the 2:34 mark there is a picture of a lady kneeling down petting a puppy. The very next picture is the same lady with the same dog as an adult. I was trying to get the second picture to fade into the screen and the first picture fades out. So they kind of "morph" if you will. I assume that's possible - but I am just to new to the program to figure it out.

Can anyone offer some ideas? I hope I explained that well enough. :D

There are numerous transitions in the FX library which will give you that effect - ranging from the simple crossfade to more elaborate effects like "Blinds", "Diamonds", "Mosaic" or "Zig-zag" - all of which morph one image into another - first remove the existing transition you have there and then just experiment by dragging one of the others down and onto the joint between the two photos in your timeline - maybe adjust the length of the transition to get the efect you are after - and play through it.

Hi

Just to add maybe 4 or 5 seconds would allow you to see the effect of the transition.
From Settings – Preferences (F6) you can set the default durations for Images, Transitions, Audio fade etc
