Database

Post by 2Pen+1 »

Every time after using PhP X6 I get this shown in recently used programs.
After clicking on it I get this message.
If I click OK PhP X6 64 bit version opens (I have both 32 bit & 64 bit installed)

Is there something wrong with install?

I have never seen this with any previous PhP X versions.

I have that same option in my Start menu for both X4 and X6. It's supposed to be there in case you need to restore the database. If yours isn't broken, you don't need to restore it.

Strange. I never saw it with X3; X4 or X5.

Suppose I should just ignore it but how do I know if my database is broken.

If the database is broken you'll see some signs. There is no "your database is broken" error but it's something you can use to troubleshoot these issues.

IF PSP is taking a lot longer than normal to startup or shutdown and you haven't added a lot of new images. If you've added images or edited images, and they aren't showing up in the manager like they should.

If PSP refuses to open at all for reasons unknown. These are all potential signs of database problems. But are not guaranteed to be connected to the database. So if you use the manage mode with tags and facial recognition a lot you'll want to avoid restoring your database and make it only a last resort type option.

Thanks very much LeviFiction for you helpful and informative answer.

I haven't seen any of the signs you quote - thankfully.

Regards.
