No chance at all if you deleted the file - if you still have the file somewhere you could upload it again and see if you can re-link.

To avoid it happening in the future - DO NOT delete files used in the project - by all means move them off to an external drive but never delete if you are likely to want to edit the project.

A .vsp project file contains no videos at all - it is just a small text file which tells VideoStudio which bits of which video/image to put in the timeline - if you delete any of the component parts of the project it just cannot find them and throws up the 'relink' error - if you cannot re-link you cannot edit.

Hi

You could try accessing the Recycle Bin to see if the file is available to restore.

Thanks for ur replies.. Is their no way for me then? As the files which i shoot are over gb's and gb's.. So i deleted by mistake.. I mean is their any way to reduce the file size, so that i dont have to delete in future? I normally shoot videos of like 1 hour and then cut it to 5-6 mins/15mins..

I am sorry you may have lost your original files. Is there a way that a computer expert could recover the files for you?

In future you could always create a backup copy on another HDD or on a DVD. I recorded the raw video onto DVDs so I can create a new edit or copy at any time.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Hi yamanisgr8

If the files were too large for the Recycle Bin then I think you have lost those particular files.

It would be best to record in smaller sections.

If this is not possible you can after cutting the clip File-- Save Trimmed Video, this will render the section creating / saving a new file to the working folder using the original video files properties.

However VS has to be able to read those properties correctly, so what are the properties of the original files.
How are you importing the files to the computer and Video Studio, maybe there is something you can do there.

Hi

What are the properties of your original video files, right click the timeline and select properties, you can if you wish create an image of that window and attach to your post, max size 256Kb.

Where did the video files come from.?
How did you transfer the files to the PC?

I think the reference
"The frame size (1920x1080) of the video file does not match the settings and therefore cant be trimmed"
has been mentioned before but would have to do a search to find the relevant posts.

storage of videos removed from the HDD - rather than delete them
