Hi,
I'm currently evaluating PSP X6 Ultimate as a possible replacement for Photoshop CC (subscription to CC not being an acceptable choice). I'm trying to tweak the UI in order to rebuild something that looks like PS. I have a problem with the histogram. PSPS X6 is the first image editing software diplaying an histogram in "portrait" mode by default. This makes it almost unreadable and useless unless I make the palette sidebar wide enough. All the information coming with the histogram should be displayed below it, not on its right.
Can this be changed?
Thanks.

Re: PSP X6 histogram
X4 here, not X6, but it sounds to me like the histogram palette is docked. If you undock it you should be able to drag the palette to any size and orientation you prefer.
Either click on the little triangle on the palette title bar, top right, to show the drop down menu (docking, floating, auto-hide, hide) or just drag the title bar away from the side it's docked on.
If that helps you'll probably want to uncheck the program option (File/preferences/general program preferences/palettes) "allow docking of" histogram.
Again, only if X6 is similar to X4 and earlier versions.

Re: PSP X6 histogram
You used to be able to dock the histogram to the bottom of the window so that it didn't overlap the image, and could be displayed in a horizontal fashion. But that stopped when they stopped allowing you to dock most of the palettes to any side but the right side.

Re: PSP X6 histogram
Thanks. But I'd like to have it docked and readable. I solved the problem by moving this palette to the second monitor but the problem is that the histogram should use the whole width of the palette. All the related information should be moved below it.Forriner wrote:X4 here, not X6, but it sounds to me like the histogram palette is docked. OK. Not a big deal but the histogram is an important tool and it should be easy to read. I don't like very much the way it's done in PSP.
