Light Color Leather

Post by Gulfcoast »

I have the following swatch of leather but would like to make it closer in color to #f0f0c0. Any tutorials or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

If so, here's what I did. I opened your image in PSP and clicked on the foreground color swatch in the Materials Palette. I set the color to #f0f0c0 and then used the color replacer tool to change the color.

If you are looking for more detailed instructions let me know and I'll be happy to explain further.

If you get a chance I would like to get a little more info from you if I can. I played around with it but my settings or something must not be right. I end up losing the texture effect plus I would like to try different colors. Thank you.

Were you by chance using the Flood Fill instead of the Color Changer? If you use the Flood Fill, you will lose the texture. The Color Changer is nested under the Flood Fill tool. Here's a screen shot.

Hope this helps. If not, let me know.

No. I was using the replacer, the last item on that menu list. Might I ask the settings you were using. Thank you very much.

Sorry, I guess they are a little hard to see on the image. The tolerance is 25 and edge softness 20.
