Smart Search Hijack

Post by Azriver »

Hi, I'm new to the forum and to the Corel software altogether, so please bare with me. Yesterday I was curious to see what the Smart Search would produce selecting "Unrated." The search returned (to my delight) photos stored on my hard drive which I had believed to be deleted along the way. The Corel software apparently did a massive sweep of all my Windows folders on the hard drive. But when I attempted to access my Windows folders, all the folders are empty; instead all the images are now grouped into one folder under My Pictures.

Since this happened I have stopped all work on the pc with hope that someone can help me before this is a permanent change. These are the issues I have:

1) Smart Search collected not only images from my own files, but also pulled from the files of other users' files on the pc
2) Smart Search didn't just perform a search within Corel, but actually reorganized my Windows files on hard drive
3) Is there a way to "undo" the last search to return to my previous file organization in Windows, or must I do a restore via backup drive

Thanks in advance for your help!
